Gary Uber | President

Gary P. Uber, BA, MSW, MDiv, is President, Founder and Owner of Family Private Care. Prior to starting FPC from his home office in 1997, Gary served in the Navy and Marines, was employed as a hospital administrator serving as a Director of Discharge Planning, Utilization Review, Social Work and Case Management. Gary has served as President of the National Private Care Association, Chamber of Commerce President, numerous health care committees, a University board, and recently was appointed to a Medicaid oversight committee by the President of the Florida Senate. Gary believes that true success begins with helping others. Gary has been directly involved in disaster intervention after hurricanes, Charlie, Francis, Jean, Wilma, and Katrina. He was on the ground in Haiti two weeks after the 2010 earthquake and most recently participated in tornado relief work in Tuscaloosa, AL. Gary remains committed to helping families navigate through the health care maze, making sure clients of any age have access to quality, cost effective home care and helping seniors retain control of their health care choices.

Tony Plummer | CEO

Tony Plummer, BA, MS, is Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Family Private Care. His love of seniors and those with special needs was particularly developed when he volunteered with his family at various assisted living communities and nursing homes from elementary school through college. His family engrained in him a deep respect for everyone; especially the elderly. In 2000, Tony joined Family Private Care and over the course of time worked in most positions in the company. He was named CEO of Family Private Care in January 2008. While his responsibilities have changed, Tony’s commitment to absolute quality service has not.

Denise Corcoran | Director Of Business Development

Denise Corcoran is the Director of Business Development with Family Private Care. She is an excellent health care advocate for the community, providing education to families regarding all types of home care, depending on the specific need of each family. She is passionate about providing support and is the primary caregiver for both of her aging parents. She works with assisted living communities serving as a resource for monthly support groups to provide resources and solutions to family caregivers. Denise believes in building relationships with clients and referral sources and providing the best options available to the community. Denise is certified as a Virtual Dementia Tour trainer providing a hands-on experience of what it is like to have dementia. She also has a Professional Development in Gerontology certification as well as her certification as a Happiness Coach. She is past president of the Atlanta Senior Care Network Niche, the largest senior providers’ networking group in the Atlanta area. Denise served on the LMK Foundation board of directors. Denise is married to Martin who is her rock. She has two beautiful daughters who both are married to wonderful men. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, helping others, playing tennis and pickleball as well as any type of crafting.

Fun facts about Denise:

  • Denise has won many 70’s disco dancing contest.
  • Growing orchids and violets, so much that she is running out of room.
  • #Snoopy and the Gang-Denise loves snoopy and has a big collection of the peanuts gang.
  • Got beads? Denise loves making beaded Christmas ornaments and will soon to have enough for an 8 foot tree.

Katie Petrassi | Director of Operations

Katie Petrassi is the Director of Operations for Family Private Care. She has worked in geriatric care management for 10 years and has a passion for assisting seniors and their families as they navigate long term care options. Her love of seniors and caregiving grew out of her personal experience of being a caregiver for both her father and grandmother. Katie earned a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Her background in therapy and her time spent working in hospice care have equipped her with the knowledge, skills, and compassion necessary to successfully serve the stakeholders of Family Private Care.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As Family Private Care continues to monitor the developing situation with COVID-19, we are adhering to all CDC and WHO guidelines for healthcare professionals. We ask all our clients to have a ready supply of gloves, anti-bacterial hand soap, and sanitizing wipes and sprays. Additionally, we are encouraging our caregivers to have these items with them as well. We would also recommend that all clients & caregivers closely monitor the CDC guidelines, practice social distancing, avoid all travel, and avoid groups over 50 people.
