Tony Plummer, Chief Executive Officer of Family Private Care, LLC., a Caregiver Registry serving Alabama and Georgia, announced today that its Founder and President, Gary Uber, has been elected President of the Private Care Association, Inc. Mr. Uber was elected at the annual PCA national conference held in Orlando, Florida. Since 1977,the Private Care Association (PCA) has been the voice of private duty home care. The PCA has an involved government relations program that actively presents its position to public policymakers at the state and federal levels. As the national voice for home care registries, the PCA continues to expand its membership and develop a greater capability to promote the interests of the private duty home care industry, advocating the consumer-directed model of care, and consumer choice.
“Family Private Care has been an active member of the Private Care Association from its inception. I consider it a privilege to have been elected president of the PCA. At the Private Care Association we believe that the consumer who elects to pay privately for their own or family member’s care has the right to assess their own care needs, make decisions about how private care would meet those needs, choose how they want that care delivered, select the personnel who will deliver that care and choose how, when and where that care will be delivered. Basically this consumer directed care is the epitome of allowing and encouraging the rights of the client and their families to choose how they wish to ‘age in place’,” explained Mr. Uber.
